Are You Stressed?

Second week of semester has ended..... being the last studying semester, I have piles of journals to read, assignments to settle, people to meet and the list just goes on..... but will try to write once in awhile ^^

Today we had a lecturer from the US to give a talk about conducting academic research. It was interesting and all, but the most memorable part (for me at least) is when he asked if technology is helping humans with convenience, or making them more stressed? He says there are four signs of stress:
  1. If you send an e-mail, two hours later you say "how come he/she did not reply yet!!??", you are stressed (in the past, it takes at least a few days if not weeks and months).
  2. If you are out, you visit the washroom, wash your hands and cannot wait for the hand dryer to completely dry your hands, you are stressed (this one I do not really see the connection, cloth would be fastest no?).
  3. If you cook your meals using a microwave which takes about 2-3 minutes and you open to check if it is cooked before the machine beeps, you are stressed (conventional cooking takes at least half an hour?).
  4. Last but not least (this probably applies to a lot of us...), if you start your computer and complain that it takes so long for the computer to start up... you are stressed!!
Funny thing is, none of the above applies to me and all applies to my mother. Anyone who has met the both of us will know that I am a lot more stressed then my mom.... or well, if you have only met me, that I am quite a stressed person at most times.

Still, are YOU stressed? ^^

Cheers!
