Part of my job involves working with children and making cute children sushi. It is really fun! Though children has never been my thing, they are a lot less scary now (oh no! biological clock ticking!!). It is really hard to get angry with them.... even when they cannot make the sushi properly or they drop the things on the floor.... with their big teary eyes... you just want to hug them and say "it's ok, let's try again"
But before I move to teaching the children, I was taught to make the following children's sushi:
Racer Sushi (Front)
Racer Sushi (Back)
Soccer Ball
Ladybird Sushi
Such workshops are great for children to learn things outside the classroom. It can also be part of a gathering or birthday celebration to make it more special. There are even workshops for adults as part of corporate team building or family day events (of course they would not be learning this kind of sushi but rather the adult ones such as temaki and gunkan)
